There are lots of events coming up including the Red Hand Trophy on Saturday, Dunloy GP on Sunday, Phoenix CC's Jimmy Devlin TT on Tuesday and Newry Wheelers' Round One of the Seat Crit Series on Wednesday. These are all pre-enty events so if it is not too late get online and pre-enter.

Ernie MagWood Super Six TT Sunday 24th

On Sunday the popular Ernie Magwood Super Six event takes place on the Toome course. This will be Round 2 of the Series. Pre-entry will go live on Entry Central very soon so please check in. The organisers prefer everyone to use Entry Central as it makes it easier for the organisers.

Sign-on wil lbe at 9.00am with the first riders off at 10.00am. A working rear red light is mandatory for this event.

National TT Test Event Sunday 31st May

Omagh Wheelers CC promote the National Time Trial Test event on Sunday 31st May. This event provides a unique opportunity for all riders with an ‘open’ license or ‘limited competition, to try out the event in anger and compare their times against some of the best riders in the world on Championship day. The event will also give paracyclists, however, paracyclists must pre-enter online before the closing date on 23rd May 2015.

Sign-on for the TT test event will be from 11:30am from Killyclogher GFC, Carrickmore Road, Omagh, Co Tyrone, BT79 0PZ.… Read more

17/05/2015 Champion of Champions TT – Portaferry

chaSherry is the Toast of Champion of Champions TT
Martin Sherry’s (Emyvale) long journey paid off when he won today’s Champion of Champion’s 25 mile time trial on the classic Portaferry Road course. On a cold morning, with a rising westerly wind, Chris Boardman’s 49 minute course record was never in danger, but Martin’s time of 55:00 gave him a clear margin over Sean McIntyre (Orchard Wheelers) in second place with 55:48, and local man Paul Crossan (Killinchy CC) in third with 56:37.

There was a good turnout of women, with Eileen Burns (Ballymena RC) fastest in a very impressive time of 59:22.… Read more

Racing Wednesday to Sunday this Week

Another busy week of road racing lies ahead with TVR's TT on Wednesday, Road Races for A1-A3. A4's, Women and Masters on Friday in Carndonagh, U16 race and Senior races at The Tommy Givan on Saturday, the Ards CC Champion of Champions TT on Sunday and races for all categories at the Emyvale GP on Sunday. Kanturk 2015 Ulster Youth Report

aaA large contingent of Ulster youth riders trvelled to Kanturk to take part in the two day stage race. Due to the U16 time trial stage of this year’s Kanturk 2 day being used as a selection event for the European Youth Olympics the Ulster Youth Academy decided that no U16 teams should be entered. This gave an opportunity for the Cycling Ulster Youth Academy to bring an extended U14 development team which comprised of 6 boys and 5 girls.

2016 Ulster Championships Now Open for Application

While it might seem very early the Executive of Cycling Ulster would like to hear from any clubs interested in promoting any of our Ulster Championships in 2016. We have a meeting in June and would like to be able to approve the events at that meeting in order to include them in 2016 calendar when it opens in September. This will allow the calendar co-ordinator to close off certain dates and allow club promoters to see when the Championships are on to avoid clashes.

With the growth of cycling and the increase in the number of clubs it is foreseen that 2016 will have  a very full calendar of events and clashes will be inevitable.… Read more

National Time Trial Route Details Revealed + Test TT

omaDetails of this year's National Championship time trial course were revealed by Race Director Stevie McKenna at the recent launch event in Omagh. The course, which is based on a single 23 mile loop, breaks from traditional flat routes and features a challenging and hilly profile with almost 1000ft of climbing.

McKenna said it’s going to be one to remember, “The course is a World's style course and it will certainly remove the predictability of flat out and back courses. It throws a bit of everything at the rider, but the first half will be the decisive element with a lot of hilly tough terrain.… Read more

aGold for Cookstown and Phoenix at Team TT
Thirteen teams lined up in very blustery conditions to compete in the Ulster team Time Trial Championships. The weather all day had been very inclement with heavy downpours of rain which may have caused other teams to stay away as normally this event attracts over twenty teams. However the night remained dry but very windy and cold for the hardy competitors who lined up to race against the clock in the hope of winning an Ulster Championship medal.… Read more

Armagh City Centre Crit Wednesday 6th May
With 24hrs left before the start of the Armagh City Criterium there are only 9 places available in the A4 only event.
According to the BBC Weather website promoting club Orchard CC are going to be lucky as the forcast is for a dry evening. Racing starts at 7.00pm with sign on open on The Mall East at 6.00pm.

This event will be a 1 HOUR Race plus 3 Laps. There will be Sprint Prime Laps at 30 and 40 mins with Prizes for first 3 in these and top 6 overall.… Read more
