Reports from Some Recent Leisure Events

8Killeavy Charity Cycle Sunday 2nd March - One of Cycling Ulster's  newest clubs, Killeavy CC, organised their first open Leisure event last weekend. They had a great turnout of 78 cyclists.  Everyone enjoyed the day out and the weather held up making for a pleasant day’s cycle.

The club was pleased with the turn out as this was their first year  and hope it will attract move over the next few years. The feedback on the day from the participants was very positive and they said that it was a really good route for the start of the season with plenty of flat road and a little rolling hills.

The club would like to thanks all their club members who helped out at the event and all the riders who came along to support them.





Emyvale Reliability Trial Sunday 24th February

Over 100 cyclists turned out for the annual Emyvale Relability Trial representoing clubs from all over the country. Among these were Clones CC, Square Wheels from the Moy, Armagh City Cyclists, Clogher Valley and Island Wheelers to name but a few.

The riders were divided into three groups, with Emyvale CC group leaders taking charge of each group, The run started at  10am to cover the 67km route which brought in Glaslough, Armagh, Caledon, Aughnacloy, with finish at Silverhill foods on the out skirts of the village. Pleanty of refreshments were on offer at the end so thanks to all the helps who catered for the event.

The "Bad Company Motorcycle Club" did a fantastic job helping to marshall and keep things safe so a big thank you to the lads especially Andrew Treanor for organizing the marshals.

The club would like to thank everyone involved in helping make this a great event for everyone and a big thank you to all the riders who came along to take part.

Tour of Down Saturday 16th February

Promoted by West Down Wheelers the Tour of Down has now become the season opener for the real leisure scent. The club had two routes on offer this year and this attracted even more riders this popular event. As usual the club had put all safety measures in place and would like to thank all in the club who came along to help out on the day.


As we have come to expect from this club there was a great range of refreshments back at the Hall in Katesbridge so thanks to all who worked hard at the catering. The club would like to than all the riders who came along to ,make the day such a success.
