Update on Stage 1 Rás Dhun na nGall
There were only four women taking part in the race this year. Melanie Spathof Cycleways was the fastest of these ahead of Sara Ortiz of Black Rose and Tonya Moran (U/A0 and Amy Brice of Phoenix CC.

Special thanks must go to Mark McKinley of Newry Wheelers who came to the aid of Matthew Doyle of the Cycling Ulster/Slane Cycles Team. Matthew broke a crank with ten miles to go and decided to ride on and finish pedalling with one foot. Hearing this over the radio Mark McKinley came to the rescue with a spare bike allowing Doyle to continue on. Doyle rode strongly following this and managed to catch the bunch and finish with them.
