Superb Opening Ride For McConvey

Belfast's Conor McConvey began his professional road racing career with a superb performance in the UCI 1.1 ranked Grand Prix Cycliste la Marseillaise in France. McConvey along with An Post team mate Paidi O'Brien from Cork found himself sprinting for 10th place after 140 kilometres of racing. They were only 11 seconds behind the leading group.
The race victor was Jonathan Hivert (Saur-Sojasun), who outsprinted Johnny Hoogerland (Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team) and Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis, Le Credit en Ligne).
